Kuwait awards $210m deals for Sabah Al Ahmad City

Mubasher: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare in Kuwait has awarded two construction and infrastructure contracts valued at $210 million (KWD 60 million).

The two deals cover the works on the Sabah Al Ahmad City mega development, Construction Week Online reported.

The first contract covers the construction, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure, main roads, and secondary power stations in Sabah Al Ahmad City which is a large-scale project.

Being a home to 250,000 people upon completion and located 65 kilometers south of Kuwait City in Khiran, the city occupies a total land area of 40km² and will be built in numerous phases with artificial islands being constructed.

“The second contract covers the construction of 40 residential buildings with 720 apartments. Kuwait's Public Authority for Housing Welfare revealed it had awarded the two contracts in a tweet on the government body's official Twitter account on 11 November 2018,” Construction Week Online added.
