King Salman attends opening of Haramain high-speed rail line

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud arrived at Jeddah station to attend the inauguration of Haramain Express high-speed rail line.

The train’s commercial operation will start on Thursday, 4 October.

The train project includes five stations namely, Makkah, Jeddah, King Abdulaziz International Airport, King Abdullah Economic City, and Medina.

On Monday, 24 September, Saudi transport minister Nabil bin Mohammed Al-Amoudi stated that the King would open the Haramain project.

Al-Amoudi further noted that the King and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman aim to raise the number of pilgrims and Umrah performers to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Railways Organization’s (SRO) president Rumaih Al-Rumaih noted that Al-Haramain train project is the first electric train in the region.

The Haramain’s length is 450 kilometres, with a dual line linking five stations.
