Kahramaa accomplishes 5 substations for World Cup 2022

Mubasher: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) announced that it has completed four distribution substations out of five in preparations for the World Cup 2022.

The newly established substations will serve four stadiums, according to the state-run company said on Twitter. 

The total cost of the five substations amounted to QAR 685 million, with a combined capacity of 360 megavolt ampere.

Set to be opened by the mid of 2019, the fifth substation will supply Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, the Qatari electricity utility noted.  

Ras Abu Aboud substation’s cost stood at QAR 94 million.

On Monday, Kahramaa reported that it has succeeded in implementing a model for electricity distribution substation with a ready-made concrete in a record time, 35 days, by using the state-of-the-art modern construction technology.
