Mubasher: Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) will launch several contracting tenders for maintenance and operation works for units in the Al-Zour refinery, a source told Kuwait's Al Jarida newspaper.
These tenders come as part of the KIPIC's framework to prepare Al-Zour refinery for actual operation, the source added.
Kuwaiti officials said previously that operation of Al-Zour refinery was slated for the final quarter of 2019.
The source further noted that the refinery will begin producing 600,000 oil barrels per day (bpd) and should gradually expand this output until it exceeds 1.5 million bpd.
Kuwait's total investment in Al-Zour refinery has reached KWD 4.87 billion ($16.3 billion).
