KGL’s subsidiary inks $1.38bn deal with US army

Mubasher: Kuwait and Gulf Link Transport (KGL) said that its 99%-owned subsidiary KGL Food Services Co has signed the main supplier contract with the US Defense Logistics Agency for a total value of $1.38 billion.

The contract’s value can be decreased due to the US army’s demands and needs as well as the operating conditions of the contract, according to a bourse statement on Sunday.

KGL noted that this contract will provide food supplies and services to the US army located inside Kuwait, Iraq, and Jordan for 24 months that can be extended to 60 months.

The financial impact of this contract cannot be determined in the current time, KGL added.
