Japanese automakers to expand in Egypt after completing automotive industry strategy

Cairo – Mubasher: Japan-based Nissan and Toyota are considering expansion in Egypt based on the North African nation’s anticipated automotive industry strategy, economic counsellor at the Japanese Embassy in Cairo Hiro Ichiba has said.

Ichiba noted that both firms are willing to pump more investments into their current business in Egypt, according to Daily News Egypt.

The Japanese companies will not take any further decision without knowledge of the Egyptian government’s policies regarding auto manufacturing, he highlighted.

Government sources had previously expected Egypt’s automotive industry strategy to be issued prior to the second quarter of 2018.
