International Holding invests GBP 39m in Oxford Nanopore Technologies

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: International Holdings Company (IHC) has invested GBP 39 million in Oxford Nanopore Technologies to support the innovation and acceleration of commercial and manufacturing operations at the British company.

This fund is part of the GBP 84.4 capital raising process of Oxford Nanopore Technologies, a leading company in DNA sequencing technology, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Through the investment, the Abu Dhabi-listed company will also increase the British company's capability in the new coronavirus (COVID-19) test, LamPORE.

The CEO and Managing Director of IHC, Syed Basar Shueb, said: "IHC has a strong track record in the healthcare device sector in the Middle East and we are very pleased to be expanding our interests globally."

Meanwhile, the CEO of Oxford Nanopore, Gordon Sanghera, commented: "Our international shareholder base reflects the international ambitions of Oxford Nanopore, as our technology is now used to answer important biological questions in more than 100 countries."
