Hurghada Airport receives 151-passenger flight from Switzerland

Cairo - Mubasher: Hurghada International Airport welcomed 151 tourists aboard a flight from Switzerland on Thursday, Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

This marks the second flight arriving from overseas after the Egyptian government decided to reopen airports at resort cities following three months of air traffic suspension due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Upon arrival, the tourists were greeted at the airport with flowers and souvenirs.

Egypt’s Red Sea governorate has finalised its preparations to resume overseas travel and international tourism through a precautionary plan set out in coordination with the Egypt Hotels Association (EHA), tourism companies, and quarantine authorities in Hurghada airport, according to the governor.

The civil aviation authority in Hurghada airport has applied some safety measurements, including signs that oblige passengers to adhere to social distancing protocols and wearing face masks, and further provided thermal imaging cameras and disinfectants in all arrival and departure halls.
