Gulf Air, Middle East Airlines ink codeshare agreement

Mubasher: Gulf Air announced a codeshare agreement with Lebanon’s Middle East Airlines-Air Liban (MEA), the Bahrain’s flag carrier said in a press release.

Under the partnership, MEA will place its ‘ME’ code on the Bahraini airline’s flights between Beirut and Bahrain.

“Beirut has always been a key route in our Middle Eastern network and we welcome this partnership with the flag carrier of Lebanon,” Gulf Air’s CEO Krešimir Kučko said.

Gulf Air links Bahrain and Lebanon with daily flights heading to Rafic Hariri International Airport, with more frequencies during high seasons like summer.

The partnership will allow Middle East Airlines access to the Gulf Air network, with the former flying passengers to Bahrain as well as other destinations in Asia.

“This codeshare with Gulf Air will complement the MEA network to the Gulf,” the Lebanese air carrier’s chairman Mohamad el Hout said.
