Cairo – Mubasher: Th government has inaugurated 256 plants in Upper Egypt’s governorates with total investments of EGP 4 billion in the previous two years, trade and industry Tarek Kabil said on Sunday.
Upper Egypt region contains 37% of the industrial zones in the North African nation with total investments of EGP 75 billion, Kabil added during opening some projects in Beni Suef governorate.
The largest number of industrial zones is located in Sohag, Minya, and Beni Suef, while engineering business represents 16% of Upper Egypt's industry.
Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi previously stated that the government was planning to complete 4,000 plants for micro-enterprises within six months or a year.
