Geidea teams up with BARQ to boost digital payments

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi fintech firm Geidea has partnered with BARQ, a Saudi-based delivery-as-a-service startup, to facilitate digital payments at the point of delivery for BARQ customers.

Geidea will offer customised solutions that allow the receipt of payments from customers upon delivery through the BARQ mobile application, according to a press release on Thursday.

The digital solutions will also enable BARQ’s merchants to accept different types of digital payments through a secure platform.

The fintech company operates over 700,000 points of sale (POS) across the region while partnering with 150,000 trusted merchants of regional and international brands, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and e-commerce players.

Chief Business Officer at Geidea, Abdullah Mansour Alshowaier, said: “Crucially, it is a partnership that will contribute to the enrichment of the Saudi SME ecosystem and widen access to the digital economy for businesses and entrepreneurs right across the Kingdom.”

Earlier this month, Geidea teamed up with the listed Nayifat Finance Company, while it expanded in the UAE through a partnership with Magnati last March.
