GSA demands STC to reveal SPL broadcasting details

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi General Sports Authority’s (GSA) chairman Turki Al-Sheikh asked the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) to unveil in a press conference the means of broadcasting the Saudi Professional League (SPL).

Al-Sheikh reiterated that STC must provide channels to transmit the matches for free, according to his official Twitter account.

The SPL will start on 31 August under the name of Prince Mohammad bin Salman League, according to a statement by the GSA.

The SPL ranked second in terms of its market capitalisation value at SAR 1.26 billion, after the Chinese Super League (CSL), whose market capitalisation value stands at SAR 2.08 billion.

Over the previous period, STC inked a ten-year contract with the GSA and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) for TV, digital broadcasting, and marketing sponsorship.
