GIG’s net profits hike to SAR 82.5m in H1-26

Riyadh - Mubasher: The net profits after Zakat and tax of Gulf Insurance Group (GIG) jumped by 34.68% to SAR 82.47 million in the first half (H1) of 2026 from SAR 61.23 million in H1-25.

The company attributed the growth to a 23.97% rise in insurance revenues, which reached SAR 900.97 million, supported by business expansion in the motor and property and casualty segments.

For the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, net profit reached SAR 38.73 million, up 13.45% from SAR 34.14 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025. Insurance service results for the quarter surged by 161.92% to SAR 119.92 million.

However, investment income for the three-month period fell by 69.04% to SAR 6.72 million, down from SAR 21.70 million a year earlier, due to unrealized losses on investments following market value revaluations.

Gross written premiums for H1-26 totaled SAR 1.30 billion, a 48% increase compared to SAR 876 million in the prior-year period. Earnings per share rose (EPS) grew to SAR 1.57 from SAR 1.17.

Total shareholders' equity, excluding non-controlling interests, stood at SAR 1.21 billion as of 30 June 2026, a 7.41% increase from SAR 1.13 billion a year ago.
