GASCO’s Natural Gas Distribution Increases 4% YOY

Egypt Oil & Gas: The Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO), announced that its distribution of natural gas has increased to 63.8 billion cubic meters in 2019, compared to 61.5 billion cubic meters in 2018, which is a 4% year-on-year (YOY) increase, according to a press release.

The Chairman of GASCO, Yasser Salah El Dine, said that the company has also implemented several projects in 2019, to support the national natural gas grid of which reached 7,850 kilometers with a capacity of 250 million cubic meter.

Salah El Dine pointed out that GASCO has produced more than 2 million ton of products which added value to the Western Dessert Gas Complex and Butane Extract plant at Al Amriya. In addition, the company has produced around 1.2 million ton of  mixture of Ethan and Probane for the companies Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (SIDPEC) and the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (Ethydco).  GASCO also exported 309,000 tons of Propane to the global market.

Salah  El Dine’s remarks came during the general assembly meeting of the company headed by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral resources, Tarek El Molla, to approve the operation results of 2019.

For his part, El Molla noted that these projects will play a significant role in achieving Egypt’s national project to be  a regional hub for oil and gas trading, confirming the importance of using the latest technologies to maintain and secure the lines of the national grid.
