Foreign sell-off weighs on EGX Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index inched down 0.02%, finishing the session at 15,236.64 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index dipped 0.1% to 738.6 points, while the broader EGX100 index slipped 0.15% to 1,896 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.35% to 2,528 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 287.5 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 766.12 million through 22,700 transactions.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 821 million and closed at EGP 855.6 billion.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 46.5 million, while Arab and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 9.8 million and EGP 36.7 million, respectively.
