Foreign, Arab buying boosts EGX early Wednesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Wednesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of foreign and Arab buying.

By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EX30 index edged up 94.68 points, or 0.61%, to 15,700 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.06% to 743.64 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.11% to 1,918 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.24% to 2,575 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 25.9 million shares exchanged through 2,600 transactions at a turnover of EGP 86.32 million.

Egyptian traders were net sellers with EGP 3.5 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 596,800 and EGP 2.9 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) levelled up 0.71% to EGP 85.5.
