Etisalat sees 3% higher profits in 9M

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The net profits attributable to the owners of Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat) rose by 2.9% to AED 7.181 billion during the first nine months of 2021 from AED 6.978 billion in the same period of 2020, according to the company's consolidated interim financials for the nine month period ended 30 September 2021.

The company generated revenues of AED 39.729 billion in the January-September period of 2021, up 2.8% from AED 38.644 billion in the year-ago period.

The consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) amounted to AED 20.1 billion for the first nine months of 2021.

The basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) stood at AED 0.83 in the first nine months of 2021, versus AED 0.80 in the corresponding period of 2020.

During the third quarter (Q3) of 2021, the company's net profits increased to AED 2.436 billion, compared to AED 2.412 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2020.

 The CEO of Etisalat Group, Hatem Dowidar, said: "Etisalat Group continued to deliver a steady growth in the third quarter of 2021, demonstrating agility as we address the growing and ever-changing customer needs and market dynamics across our operations."

It is noteworthy to mention that during the first half (H1) of 2021, the company's net profits attributable to the owners increased by 3.9% to AED 4.745 billion, compared to AED 4.566 billion in the year-ago period.
