Etisalat’s brand portfolio surpasses $10bn, tops Mideast peers

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The UAE telecom operator Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat) has become the first company in the Middle East to break the $10 billion barrier in terms of the wider portfolio value.

Brand Finance on Tuesday awarded Etisalat the “most valuable portfolio brand"” title in the Middle East and North African (MENA), Arabian Business reported.

The group’s portfolio, which grew 8% in 2018, includes brands such as Etisalat Misr, Mobily, Ufone, Maroc Telecom, PTCL and Etisalat Afghanistan.

The telecom operator also kept its position as the most valuable consumer brand in the Middle East and Africa.

Developing customer loyalty programmes and sports sponsorship commitments helped Etisalat surpass some of the top regional brands.
