Etihad Airways to incur more losses until 2022 - Fitch Ratings

Dubai – Mubasher: Etihad Airways is expected to continue posting losses until 2022, on the back of having a hard time executing its turnaround plan, Fitch Ratings said.

However, the international rating agency affirmed the Etihad’s rating at ‘A’ with a stable outlook, basing its judgment on government support that is generously provided to the carrier.

"We welcome the fact that, in line with our expectations, Fitch has reaffirmed Etihad Airways’ long-term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at 'A' with a stable outlook,” a spokesperson told Arabian Business.

In June, Etihad posted AED 5.58 billion ($1.52 billion) losses in its core operations during 2017.
