Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia is set to support Rays of Hope initiative, launched by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), with $2.5 million, the Saudi Minister of Energy, Abdulaziz bin Salman, announced in a speech during the 67th IAEA General Conference.
Rays of Hopes includes projects based on sustainability that aim to build and strengthen radiation safety legislation and infrastructure, and provide quality control, guidance, training and equipment.
Salman stated that Saudi Arabia is working on establishing the first nuclear power plant for peaceful purposes, driven by its belief in the positive contributions of the nuclear power.
The IAEA holds its 67th General Conference from 25 to 29 September with more than 2800 registered participants, including more than 2500 representatives of the member states.
