Energy, telecom stocks push up ADX at Thursday’s close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Thursday’s trading session in green territory, encouraged by the energy and telecommunication sectors.

The general index increased by 0.58%, or 27.31 points, ending the last session of the week at 4,777.32 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 218.44 million after 82.21 million shares exchanged hands through 1,784 transactions.

The investment sector topped the gainers and grew 1.67% as Al Waha Capital levelled up 2.72%, while the energy sector grow 1.53% on the back of Dana Gas’ 2.93% increase.

Similarly, the telecommunication sector and its sole stock, Etisalat, went up 0.65% each, followed by the banks sector with 0.63% after the heavyweight First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) advanced 0.58%.

On the negative side, the consumer sector headed the decliners and dipped 3.14%, while the real estate sector retreated 1.07% as Aldar Properties plunged 1.18%
