Egyptian Sugar and Integrated Industries inks upgrade deal with int’l alliance

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Sugar and Integrated Industries Company (ESIIC) signed a contract with an alliance comprised of four companies; namely CEGMAN, BMA, Maine Capital, and Ronald Berger for upgrading and restructuring the state-run company and its subsidiaries.

The alliance will conduct a study for all the 22 units owned by the sugar manufacturer and set up a plan to make the best use of the material and human capabilities of the company to boost its competitiveness locally, regionally, and internationally, the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Ali El-Moselhy, said in a statement on Sunday.

The government aims to develop the sugar industry by increasing production and reducing the waste, he added.

He further noted that Egypt’s self-sufficiency of sugar reached 75%, expecting the country to achieve 100% self-sufficiency in the near future after the completion of establishing new factories and developing state-run sugar plants.
