Egypt to take part in Davos 2019 after 5-yr absence

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt will participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF), being held in Davos, Switzerland as of 22 January to 25 January, after almost five years of absence.

On Monday, Egypt’s Ministry of Finance announced that minister Mohamed Maait left Cairo to take part in the WEF being held in Davos under the theme of “Globalisation 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.

Prime Minister Hisham Madbouli will head the Egyptian delegation, including investment and international cooperation minister Sahar Nasr and tourism minister Rania Al-Mashat at Davos 2019

The Egyptian Cabinet’s spokesperson Nader Saad said that the Prime Minster aims to attract new investments to Egypt by participating in the WEF.

Madbouli will also promote for the African Union, which will be headed by Egypt in February, Saad added in a phone broadcast to Extra News Channel.

It is worth noting that Madbouli is set to take part in one of the WEF’s important sessions on Africa’s future.

Moreover, Maait is expected to showcase the indicators of Egypt’s economy and the economic reform programme during the forum and will discuss the current local and regional economic situation with a number of global investment banks, including Standard Chartered.
