Egypt to roll out double-decker buses in Cairo next March

Cairo – Mubasher: The Cairo Transportation Authority (CTA) will launch the double-decker buses in the capital early March, Almal News reported on Sunday, citing a top official at the authority.

This service will be available on the bus lines of Abdul Munim Riad and Giza, the source added, noting that the passenger's ticket will cost EGP 3.

The authority will operate this service through 10 buses to be spread out when suitable roads exist, the source continued.

The CTA has closed a deal worth EGP 250 million with the Ministry of Transport to operate Heliopolis tram, equivalent to 20 buses, by the second quarter of 2018, the source pointed out.

The 140-passenger double decker will be available in the areas of Ramses, Ghamra, and Roxy.
