Egypt to raise education spending 10% next year

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of planning said that public investment in education has been increased by 10% in the budget for upcoming fiscal year 2017/2018.

Hala El-Said said in a statement on Sunday that the Egyptian government is interested in raising the Egyptian education system’s competitiveness due to its positive effects on achieving sustainable economic growth, stressing that a new strategy to invest in education has been adopted, with new sources of fund created on both the national and the local levels, with a mechanism to allow partnerships with the private sectors to expand in establishing Egyptian-foreign universities, as well as electronic and online universities.
