Egypt to pump EGP 1bn to develop teaching hospitals, institutes

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian health ministry has allocated around EGP 1 billion to develop the subsidiaries of the General Organization For Teaching Hospitals and Institutes (GOTHI) during the fiscal year 2018/2019, GOTHI's vice chairman Mohammed Fawzy said.

The plan entails completing the new building of the National Institute for Research on Endemic Diseases and Liver in Imbaba district, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

The official further noted that the Egyptian body will finish establishing healthcare emergency buildings in Banha Teaching Hospital and Shebin El Koum Educational Hospital, along with constructing a new facility in Al Mabarret Educational Hospital and developing the existing unit.

The GOTHI will develop Qeft Central Hospital in Upper Egypt, Fawzy said.
