Egypt to auction additional T-bills worth EGP 50bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will issue treasury bills (T-bills) amounting to EGP 50 billion through two auctions on Thursday, 18 April 2024.

The first offering will total EGP 30 billion and is scheduled to mature in 182 days on 22 October this year, according to official data.

The CBE will also auction T-bills worth EGP 20 billion through an issue that will mature in 364 days on 22 April 2025.

Following Eid El-Fitr long weekend, the central bank offered T-bills at a combined value of EGP 55 billion in addition to treasury bonds (T-bonds) worth EGP 4 billion on 15 April.
