Egypt teams up with Norway’s Sterner to build aquaculture complex

Cairo – Mubasher: Chairman of Suez Canal Authority (SCA), Osama Rabie, witnessed the signing of the shareholders' agreement to activate the partnership between SCA's subsidiary, Canal Company for Ropes and Natural & Synthetic Fiber Products, and Norway’s Sterner.

The agreement is for the establishment of a cutting-edge, high-quality comprehensive aquaculture complex leveraging recirculation systems, according to a statement on Wednesday.

The complex is set to produce a total of 25,000 tonnes of fish per year.

SCA’s chairman expressed his readiness to provide all support and dismantle obstacles to ensure the success of this promising project, which aims to achieve self-sufficiency in fish, opening new overseas export markets, and transfer advanced technology and new experiences to the Egyptian market.
