Egypt sees EGP 4bn local investments in February

Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian investors have pumped EGP 3.9 billion into the development of companies in February, making up 84% of total investments.

Meanwhile, Arab investments into the Egyptian market soared by 138% year-on-year to EGP 609.8 million last month, accounting for 13% of total investments, Egypt’s investment ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

Foreign investors have injected around EGP 123 million into the development of Egyptian firms in February, rising 21% year-on-year.

The ministry also unveiled the establishment and development of 2,172 companies with total investments worth EGP 6.3 billion in February.

Furthermore, the ministry indicated that almost 149 companies were set up last month with Egyptian, Arab, and foreign capital of EGP 17 million.

The ministry also revealed that two firms were built in the fields of trade and education with Egyptian capital worth a combined EGP 770 million.
