Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt’s unemployment rate recorded 7.9% in 2020, the same as in 2019, data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed.
The unemployment rate among people aged 15 to 29 years reached 15% in 2020, compared to 16.7% a year earlier, the CAMPAS said in a statement on Wednesday.
The total number of employed people amounted to 28.45 million in 2020, including 23.68 million males and 4.774 million females.
The urban labour force registered 12.49 million, while the rural labour force stood at 15.96 million.
The number of unemployed people amounted to 2.26 million in 2020, up by 1.5% from 2.22 million in 2019.
