Egypt’s unemployment rate slumps to 10% in Q3 - CAPMAS

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's unemployment rate fell by 1.9% year-on-year during the third quarter of 2018, data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed.

The unemployment rate edged up 0.1% quarter-on-quarter to 10% in Q3-18, compared to 9.9% in Q2-18, according to a statement by (CAPMAS) on Thursday.

The number of unemployed citizens amounted to 2.920 million in Q3-18, including 1.602 million males and 1.318 million females, the CAPMAS highlighted.

Additionally, the number of male employees increased by 3.3% quarter-on-quarter to around 21.844 million workers, the authority added.
