Egypt’s unemployment rate falls to 11.3% in Q4 - CAPMAS

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s unemployment rate declined to 11.3% in the fourth quarter of 2017 from 11.9% in Q3-17 and 12.4%in Q4-16, according to a statement by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Thursday.

The number of unemployed amounted to 3.3 million individuals in Q4-17, retreating by 282,000 year-on-year and 204,000 quarter-on-quarter, the CAPMAS said.

The labour force rose by 202,000 employees to 29.27 million last quarter, compared to Q4-16, the statement added.
