Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s balance of trade deficit narrowed by 4.1% year-on-year (YoY) to $36.46 billion during fiscal year 2019/2020, compared to $38.03 billion, on the back of lower imports, according to data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Imports of the most populous Arab nation slid to $62.84 billion in the year ended 30 June, compared to $66.52 billion a year earlier, data showed on Monday.
Meanwhile, exports retreated to $26.37 billion in FY19/20 from $28.49 billion in the previous year.
