Egypt’s sovereign fund to ink deal with NSPO

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s sovereign wealth fund is set to sign a cooperation framework agreement with the National Service Products Organization (NSPO), affiliated to the Ministry of Defence, on Monday to explore the possibility of restructuring some companies.

Under the agreement, the sovereign wealth fund will consider investing in these companies and developing their assets in partnership with the private sector, the fund’s chairman and minister of planning and economic development, Hala El-Saeed, said in a statement on Sunday.

This move is part of the fund’s efforts towards attracting new investments in line with Egypt vision 2030, El-Saeed added.

It is noteworthy that the fund previously signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the UK-based leading private equity firm Actis to explore potential investment opportunities in several sectors.
