Cairo- Mubasher: The Egyptian petroleum ministry targets to increase natural gas production to 6.4 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) in the first half of 2018, sources at the ministry told Alborsa newspaper.
The ministry plans to add 750 million cubic feet (mcf) of gas from the supergiant Zohr gas field, as well as 100 mcf from Nooros field in the Nile Delta offshore concession, Alborsa reported, citing sources as saying.
Egypt's current gas output rose to 5.5 bcfd after adding more than 250 mcf from Atoll gas field last November, sources added.
Egypt’s gas production levelled up to 4.45 bcfd in the fourth quarter of 2016, according to the ministry’s data.
