Egypt’s non-oil exports drop to $18bn in nine months

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s non-oil exports dropped by 3.5% year-on-year (YoY) to $18.14 billion during the first nine months of 2020 from $18.8 million, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Thursday, citing official data.

In September, the most populous Arab nation’s non-oil exports rose by 4% or $92 million to $2.149 billion from $ 2.058 in September 2019, according to the monthly report by the General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC).

Seven export councils have increased their exports, led by exports of printed books, paper, and other products of the printing industry which jumped by 69% to $87 million from $52 million, while exports of building materials surged by 34% to $559 million in September from $417 million in the same month a year earlier.
