Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of communication and information technology said that the country’s mobile phone service providers will obtain the frequencies for the fourth generation (4G) of mobile telecommunications technology on Monday, as reported by Al Ahram newspaper.
Yasser El-Qady expects Telecom Egypt (TE) to begin providing mobile services by the end of summer after obtaining the frequencies and completing the deals with the three other providers.
Sources in TE said that the company has not yet set a date for providing its services to the public, as it is subject to the approval of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA).
