Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt approved a short list of projects to be financed by the first issuance of the country’s green bonds, the Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, said.
The short list, which includes five green projects valued at $500 million, were approved after talks between governmental officials and international advisors for the issuance, Fouad added in a statement on Sunday.
The environment and finance ministries made a list of 41 green projects to be financed by the issuance in collaboration with the concerned authorities.
The short list includes projects in sustainable transportation as well as sustainable management of water and sanitation.
In addition, a proposal by the finance ministry for additional projects valued at $250 million has been approved, bringing the total value of accepted bids for the issuance to $750 million.
