Egypt’s MSME funding totals EGP 16bn since 2014 – Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) has provided EGP 16 billion funds since 2014, Trade minister Tarek Kabil said.

The MSME has financed small businesses and micro-businesses with EGP 10 billion and EGP 6 billion, respectively, Kabil added.

Around 830,000 projects were benefited from these funds as they had created more than 1.1 million direct jobs, he highlighted.

The minister further noted that Upper Egypt has acquired 39% of these funds, particularly Minya, Beni Suef, Asyut, and Sohag governorates.
