Egypt's Labour Emergency Fund pays EGP 1.4bn in aid to workers

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Manpower and Chairman of Labour Emergency Fund, Mohamed Saafan, announced the disbursement of EGP 1.42 billion in aid to workers as of the end of June. 

The aid was directed to 416,666 employees in 3,824 establishments, Saafan added in a statement on Thursday.

The minister approved the disbursement of the eighth and ninth batches of emergency aid to workers in the tourism sector.

The aid is equivalent to 100% of the main wage, at a minimum monthly amount of EGP 600.

Saafan affirmed the ministry's continuous support to employees in the tourism sector which has started to recover from the pandemic.
