Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of international cooperation Rania Al-Mashat signed six new grant agreements with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) with a combined value of $90 million.
The agreements involve the establishment of several developmental projects in basic education, higher education, scientific research, technology, health, agriculture, trade, and investment, Al-Mashat added in a statement on Thursday.
One deal includes injecting $15 million into basic education to improve the skills of students and train teachers, while another agreement involves $30 million facility to be pumped into the US-Egypt higher education initiative.
Moreover, the USAID will also provide $4 million to science and technology sectors, $4.4 million to agriculture development, $10 million to healthcare, and $26.5 million to trade and investment.
Since 1978, the USAID has invested more than $30 billion in projects in Egypt, mainly in health, population, and education sectors.
