Egypt mulls issuing new currency worth EGP 2

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government is considering the issuance of a new currency worth EGP 2, finance minister Mohamed Maait said.

The government will announce their decision regarding the matter soon as it is still under study, the minister added in an interview on TEN TV.

He noted that the whole world has issued a currency with the same value.

In another context, he said that the government has finally reached an agreement on the standards and criteria for calculating estate tax on hotels.

These standards are fixed until the end of 2018, Maait highlighted, noting that any amendment to the protocol will be a matter of consensus among all.
