Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt is currently considering the establishment of a spinning and weaving technology education complex in Alexandria, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea was cited by the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
The complex will include the construction of a technical school and a technology college through a twinning program with an international textile university, Gamea added.
The education facility will enable students to deal with advanced spinning and weaving machines.
Egypt's spinning and weaving exports grew by 24% to $432 million in the first half (H1) of 2021, compared to $349 million in H1-20.
Top market destinations for the country's spinning and weaving exports include Turkey, Italy, Algeria, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Nigeria, Jordan, the US, and Morocco.
