Egypt looking to export gas to supply Lebanon with power

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt aims to export natural gas as soon as possible to supply Lebanon with power, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, as saying.

This statement was made following a meeting in Jordan to explore the possible means for easing Lebanon's power crisis.

The meeting included Lebanese, Syrian, and Jordanian energy ministers as they discussed a US-backed plan to supply Lebanon with power by using Egyptian gas in producing electricity in Jordan that would be transmitted through Syria.
