Egypt injects EGP 100bn into social housing projects

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s government has spent around EGP 100 billion to date on the low-income earners’ residential units within the framework of the social housing project.

Egypt provides residential units for slums’ residents at a total cost of EGP 20 billion, the housing ministry’s spokesperson Hani Younis told AlHayah TV Network in a telephone call.

Meanwhile, projects for medium-income earners, including “Dar Misr” and “Sakan Misr” totalled EGP 50 billion, Younis highlighted.

It is worth noting that the government had enabled the reservation of 18,590 units in 12 governorates as of Sunday, 12 August, until Wednesday, 5 September.
