Egypt extends deadline for reconciliation over building violations until 2020-end

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian cabinet decided to extend the deadline for receiving reconciliation requests for building violations until the end of 2020.

The decision comes in response to requests from many citizens and non-government organisations (NGOs) that pay reconciliation fees for residents in the neediest villages, the Cabinet Spokesman, Nader Saad, said in a statement on Wednesday.

In January, the President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi ratified a law allowing owners of illegally-constructed buildings to settle with the state.
