Egypt directs EGP 3.8bn to healthcare against COVID-19

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Finance has dedicated EGP 3.8 billion to support the healthcare sector since the beginning of March, in line with the government’s efforts to combat the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), minister Mohamed Maait, said on Wednesday.

EGP 2.583 billion were directed to the Ministry of Health, while EGP 427 million were allocated for the following public hospitals and medical and mental health centres.

Similarly, EGP 688.5 million were provided for university hospitals, the minister noted.
