Egypt auctions EGP 12.5bn T-bills on Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is offering treasury bills (T-bills) totalling EGP 12.5 billion over two tranches on Sunday, 23 January.

The first issue stands at EGP 3 billion and holds a maturity of 91 days until 26 April this year, according to official data.

The second auction amounts to EGP 9.5 billion, carrying a 273-day tenor until 25 October 2022.

Egypt’s Ministry of Finance, through the CBE, offered T-bills worth EGP 20 billion in total on 20 January.
