Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Cabinet on Thursday approved a presidential decree regarding an EUR 243 million financing from the South Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) to supply 32 trains for third and fourth phases of Cairo Metro’s Line 3.
The project will serve around 1.5 passengers a day by linking the far west of Cairo with the capital’s east, including commuters in the overcrowded districts, such as Imbaba, Boulaq El Dakrour, and Mohandessin.
In August, the North African nation and South Korea signed an EUR 243 million agreement to supply and manufacture 32 trains for third and fourth phases of Cairo Metro’s Line 3.
