Egypt-China trade hits $7.5B in 7 months

The trade exchange between Egypt and China surged 24 percent in the first seven months of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017, according to customs data.

The volume hit $7.5 billion, showed the data of the Chinese customs department released on Sunday.

China's exports to Egypt were estimated at $6.5 billion, up 22.6 percent year on year. Egypt's trade to the Asian giant jumped 34.1 percent to $1 billion.

On a monthly basis, the trade exchange stood at $1.298 billion in July, according to the data.
